Tampering spree The Costa Mesa Police Department responded to campus after a white male in his late 20s was seen tampering with on-campus golf carts, vending machines and district vans between 11:55 p.m. and 12:15 a.m. on Feb. 22, Jim Rudy, chief of Campus Safety said. Officers reportedly noticed a golf cart had been moved from its original position and reviewed footage showing that he had tampered with other campus resources, Rudy said. The suspect was seen wearing a black hoodie and black tennis shoes. There were no damages. Swap smack An Orange Coast College Swap Meet vendor was struck in the face by a 20-year-old patron on Feb. 22, according to Rudy. The altercation occurred at 3:25 p.m. after a disagreement at the weekend meet. The victim, a 50-year-old male who sustained minor injuries, chose not to press charges after CMPD was called and escorted the suspect off the premises, Rudy said. Man down A man lying on the ground was transported to the hospital from campus around 5 p.m. Sunday. Paramedics responded, found the male was disoriented and transferred him to the hospital for further medical treatment, Rudy said.
